Emily Irene VanCamp initially aspired to become a professional actor, but became interested following a visit to Katie on the Ladies Room film set. When she started taking acting classes, Emily Irene VanCamp also secured guest appearances on television series in Canada. A few of the series she was a part of, among others were Are You Scared of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp had a career breakthrough when he got a role on the WB horror-mystery show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. The show was cancelled after 9 episodes and despite receiving favorable reviews. However, she was successful to secure a new role Amy Abbott on Everwood. This role led to her being named an Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
